This comprehensive 5-day course enables delegates to develop and deliver knowledge and skills training required to satisfy the requirements of FF5 (Protect the environment from the effects of hazardous materials during fire and rescue incidents).
The Hazardous Materials Instructor training course is accredited by the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE); The only regulated Awarding Organisation in the UK that specialises entirely in the fire sector.
The course comprises of core knowledge sessions and more practical application of knowledge via the hazardous materials risk assessment process. It is structured in a way that sees delegates progress through each section, building on their skills and knowledge to deal with more complex scenarios.
By the end of the course the delegates will be able to prepare and deliver high quality training sessions for first responders which will enable them to respond to hazardous materials incidents in a safe and structured manner and put in place the building blocks upon which the HMA will develop their advice for the incident commander.
