DIM Foundation Course

This comprehensive training course equips delegates with essential knowledge and skills to perform the role of DIM Advisor with confidence.

The training enables delegates to develop a systematic approach to all DIM incidents ensuring that the required safety measures are in place and risks minimised.

Although the training is practical with useful techniques, methods, and checklists, there is also an emphasis on building an understanding of the theory and relating it to current threats, ensuring that activities are evidenced correctly.

The delegates will be provided with detailed information on how to safely and reliably operate the various pieces of DIM equipment, together with a full appreciation of their capabilities as well as, most importantly, their limitations. They will also be taught how to integrate the functionality of the equipment, together with the skills learnt on the Hazmat Advisors training, to provide a safe, professional and pragmatic DIM response to challenging operational situations.

There is no requirement to have the knowledge of science or maths to attend the course. However, it is recommended that the DIM course attendees complete the Hazardous Materials Advisor Course prior to attending DIM course.

Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the day on the courses delivered at Tactical Hazmat.
